Area of Responsibility

The Auxiliary's Upper Manhattan Flotilla serves New York City. We are part of Division 5, which is in the First District, Southern Region, which serves the Tri-State area. Coast Guard Station New York's Area of Responsibility (AOR) includes the waters of New York Harbor, the waterways around Staten Island, the Port of Newark, the East River, the lower Hudson River, Jamaica Bay and a portion of the lower New York Harbor below the Verrazzano–Narrows Bridge. Our Flotilla concentrates within the greater Coast Guard AOR, focusing on areas of northern Manhattan and the Bronx.
