About the Baylander

Baylander IX-514, a decommissioned U.S. military vessel, hosts Flotilla 5-11's monthly meetings (in good weather) and other events.

Built in 1968, Baylander served during the Vietnam War with the Navy and Army. In 1986, it was converted into a helicopter landing trainer and used for thousands of helo training missions until 2011 when it was decommissioned.

Now owned by the Trenk Family Foundation, Baylander serves as a floating museum and community event space at the West Harlem Piers, West 125 Street and the Hudson River.
