The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is comprised of a highly diverse group of people with a wide variety of interests, talents, life skills and experiences to offer.  You control how involved you wish to become and how much time you want to contribute.  Regardless of your motivation to join, you will enrich your life and the lives of others in ways that you cannot imagine.  Whether you are considering joining our flotilla or want more information about the Auxiliary, please fill out and submit the contact form (see below).  It is where ordinary people are doing extraordinary things!

Who is eligible to join?

** U.S.C.G. Auxiliary membership is open to any U.S. citizen who is at least 17 years of age and subject to a satisfactory background check via a Government Personal Security Investigation (PSI).

Note: New members need to successfully complete all core training requirements, a basic qualification course and a boating safety course (or pass an equivalent challenge exam) in order to participate in many of the Auxiliary's programs.

What are the benefits?

** Auxiliary members will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge, learn new skills or hone old ones.  You will make a difference in both your local community and to our Nation.  You will take great satisfaction in knowing that you are helping to save lives, directly or indirectly.  Some of the other benefits include special training from the Auxiliary and Coast Guard, shared fellowship, receiving Auxiliary publications, specific Coast Guard exchange privileges, Coast Guard Federal Credit Union, aid through the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance, access to certain Coast Guard work life programs, itemized tax deductions, awards and recognition.
