FREE Vessel Safety Checks

"Preventing Accidents through Education"

A Vessel Safety Check is one of our educational outreach programs designed to promote recreational boating and paddle sport safety.  It is a FREE, courtesy, non-law enforcement program provided by both the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and U.S. Power Squadron at the request of the owner.  Our primary goal is to educate both boaters and paddlecraft enthusiasts alike on the required safety equipment for their boat based upon federal, state and local requirements.  Some of the items checked include life jackets, fire extinguishers, bilge pumps, ventilation, battery compartments and navigational lights.
