Succession planning is an ongoing dynamic process that assists a Flotilla or the entire Auxiliary in aligning its goals and its human capital needs. Succession planning can prepare the Flotilla for future critical vacancies of appointed and elected leadership positions. Forecasting the talent necessary for these roles can provide the groundwork and understanding of the characteristics needed to maintain and grow the Flotilla. ( Butler, K., & Roche-Tarry, D. (2002).
