What to Expect
Once you make the decision to join our Flotilla you will be contacted by our Human Resources Staff officer (FSO-HR). They will invite you to one of our meetings where you will meet the other Flotilla members and learn more about the organization and missions.
Soon after you will be asked to complete some enrollment paperwork and turn it into the FSO-HR. The FSO-HR will take your picture and submit that with your membership packet. You’re now on the road to becoming a member of the USGC Auxiliary! To learn more about the paperwork process click here.
Once approved you will be issued a membership number and a US Coast Guard Auxiliary Identification card. Congratulations! Now it’s time to take some on-line courses that are required to be completed by every USCG Auxiliary member every five years, as well as the one-time safe boating course, if you haven’t taken it already. For further information on those courses click here.
The Flotilla will assign a mentor to you to help guide you through the first few months as you learn the ropes of the USCG Auxiliary. Your mentor will want to know what interests you to help guide your pathway of earning qualifications during your long and rewarding time with the USCG Auxiliary.
