Mission Bay Flotilla Promotes Boating Safety With
Boy Scouts of America
Members of Mission Bay Coast Guard Auxiliary turned out on Saturday, June 8, 2024 to help prepare the Mission Bay Boy Scouts of America facility for summer camp season. This is an annual activity for the flotilla, when our members perform safety checks on the camp’s fleet of sailboats, paddle craft and personal safety equipment.

Mission Bay Flotilla has partnered with San Diego Harbor Flotilla to staff vessel safety days at the USCG Auxiliary Vessel Safety Check Station on San Diego Bay at Laurel Street.

Vessel Safety Check Day at West Marine
Mission Bay Flotilla led a division-wide boating safety day at West Marine in San Diego on Saturday, May 24 offering free vessel safety checks and boating safety materials to boaters who stopped by the store.

One New Vessel Examiner Joins Our Team
On May 31, 2015 Flotilla 1-05 vessel examiners once again led a vessel safety check day at the Laurel Street USCG Auxiliary Vessel Safety Check Station. In total, we had eight yachts call at the station for vessel exams. Devin Peters was able to complete five supervised exams, thereby finishing the final requirements for qualification as a USCG Auxiliary Vessel Examiner.

Mission Bay Flotilla at San Diego Boat Show
Mission Bay Flotilla members supported the recreational boating safety mission of the USCG Auxiliary at the San Diego International Boat Show from June 19th to the 21st this year.
