               Four Responsibilities of an Auxiliarist

Commodore Martin Goodwin outlined the Four Responsibilities of an Auxiliarist.

These are:

Establish the “Why.” Why are you an auxiliarist?  Why is the Auxiliary and your participation in it important to you?

Promote Success. In everything you do within the Auxiliary, do your best and help your shipmates do their best. Show leadership by your example and encourage others in their successes.

Perpetuate Satisfaction. We all participate in the Auxiliary on our own terms – let us motivate each other to be our best for the Coast Guard and our flotilla.

Seek Solutions. When there are problems (and there almost always are), seek solutions to them.

Create a culture of “Yes” within the flotilla and seek to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

At our March 2025 monthly flotilla meeting, the Commodore honored us and our Flotilla’s 85th Anniversary with a special Bravo Zulu video message.

Flotilla 72 was formed March 15, 1940 – we are the 4th oldest Flotilla in the Auxiliary!  Please be sure to view his brief but inspiring message via email or as posted on our FB page:
