Flotilla 1-2 What's New!
GAP YEAR?
High School Graduate, College Graduate, Retired?
If you are contemplating a GAP YEAR, the US Coast Guard Auxiliary has a place for you that can last one year or a lifetime!
The US Coast Guard Auxiliary welcomes women, men and undefined, ages 17 and older, there is no upper age limit.
In the GAP Year you can acquire invaluable employment and life skills with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. As a member of the AUXILIARY, you will undertake CORE TRAINING and FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) Emergency Management training that is common to both your community government and emergency response services. This will enable you to help in the response to the emergency instead of being a victim in need of a response!
Through the Auxiliary training directorate, you have a broad choice of training opportunities to select from, including Aux Boat Crew and Boat Coxswain (Cox'n) training programs. You can, at the conclusion of your gap year compile an invaluable resume of training and leadership skills, crew and command one of our boats and make lifetime connections with our membership that will serve as distinguished resume references. Not to mention friends for life!
Join the Auxiliary today!
