Specially trained Auxiliary members provide free safety equipment boat examinations for recreational boaters. This examination will help the boater understand not only the legal requirements for their boat in their boating area, but the recommended safety equipment.
If the boat meets the Auxiliary requirements for safety, the boat owner is awarded with a decal placed on their boat by the examiner.
All boaters are encouraged to have their vessel checked for the required safety equipment that is listed in the Federal Regulations booklet. These are courtesy exams for your boating safety. The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary does not issue citations.
