HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES COAST GUARD AND STATION GLOUCESTER Ron McBrien contributes close to 1,000 hours each year with activities that are an integral part of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary mission, namely assisting the active duty United States Coast Guard. His activities include communications watch standing at Station Gloucester and a variety of special projects including the history of Station Gloucester. Ron also has served for years on the Unites States Coast Guard Cutter Grand Isle, a 110' Island-Class Patrol Boat based out of Gloucester.

Namesake Warren Deyampert USCGC Warren Deyampert WPC 1151 Gallantry During Grave Peril.
Warren T. Deyampert enlisted to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard at 19 years old,
served on the USCGC Escanaba WPG 77. Petty Officer Second Class Warren T. Deyampert trained
in blackout conditions as required for volunteer rescue swimmers. Warren T. Deyampert
rescued survivors from freezing Atlantic Ocean Feb. 3rd 1943 from
the U.S. Army SS Dorchester, helped rescue over 100 soldiers from the sea, and was
posthumously awarded the U.S. Navy Medal and the U.S. Marine Corps Medal and the Purple Heart.
